[다번역성경찬송]
Job 14장
1. Man [that is] born of a woman [is] of few days, and full of trouble.
여자에게서 태어난 사람은 날수가 적고 괴로움으로 가득하며
2. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
꽃과 같이 자라나서 꺾이고 또한 그림자처럼 사라지며 계속해서 머물지 아니하거늘
3. And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?
이러한 자를 향하여 주께서 눈을 여시고 나를 주와 함께 심판 자리에 이르게 하시나이까?
4. Who can bring a clean [thing] out of an unclean? not one.
누가 정결한 것을 부정한 것 가운데서 가져올 수 있나이까? 아무도 없나이다.
5. Seeing his days [are] determined, the number of his months [are] with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
그의 날들이 정하여졌고 그의 달수도 주께 있으므로 주께서 그의 한계를 정하사 그가 넘어가지 못하게 하셨사오니
6. Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day.
그에게서 돌이키사 그가 품꾼처럼 자기 날을 마칠 때까지 안식하게 하옵소서.
7. For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
나무에게 소망이 있나니 그것은 베일지라도 다시 움이 돋아 그것의 연한 가지가 끊이지 아니하며
8. Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
그것의 뿌리가 땅 속에서 오래되고 그것의 줄기가 흙 속에서 죽을지라도
9. [Yet] through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.
물 냄새에 싹이 트고 초목처럼 가지들을 낼 것이로되
10. But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where [is] he?
사람은 죽으면 소멸되나니 참으로 사람이 숨을 거두면 그가 어디에 있나이까?
11. [As] the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:
물이 바다에서 없어지고 홍수가 줄어들어 마름같이
12. So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens [be] no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
사람은 누우면 일어나지 못하고 하늘들이 더 이상 있지 아니할 때까지 그들이 잠에서 깨지 못하며 일어나지 못하리이다.
13. O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!
원하건대 주께서 나를 무덤에 감추시며 주의 진노가 지나갈 때까지 나를 은밀히 숨기시고 정해진 때를 내게 지정해 주시며 나를 기억하소서!
14. If a man die, shall he live [again]? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
사람이 죽으면 다시 살리이까? 나를 위하여 정하신 시간의 모든 날을 내가 기다리되 변화가 내게 이를 때까지 기다리겠나이다.
15. Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
주께서는 부르시겠고 나는 주께 응답하리니 주께서는 주의 손으로 지으신 것을 원하시리이다.
16. For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
이제 주께서 내 걸음을 세시오니 주께서 내 죄를 감시하지 아니하시나이까?
17. My transgression [is] sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.
주께서는 내 범죄를 자루에 담아 봉하시고 내 불법을 꿰매시나이다.
18. And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place.
산은 무너져 반드시 없어지며 바위도 제자리에서 옮겨지고
19. The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow [out] of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man.
물은 돌을 닳게 하나니 땅의 티끌 속에서 자라는 것들을 주께서 휩쓸어 가시며 사람의 소망을 끊으시나이다.
20. Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
주께서 영원히 그를 이기셔서 사라지게 하시며 그의 얼굴빛을 변하게 하시고 내쫓으시오니
21. His sons come to honour, and he knoweth [it] not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth [it] not of them.
그의 아들들이 존귀하게 되어도 그가 그것을 알지 못하며 그들이 비천하게 되어도 그가 그들에 대한 그 일을 깨닫지 못하되
22. But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.
오직 그에게 붙어 있는 살이 아픔을 느끼고 그 속에 있는 그의 혼이 애곡할 뿐이니이다, 하니라.

Job 15장
1. Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,
그때에 데만 사람 엘리바스가 응답하여 이르되,
2. Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind?
지혜로운 자가 헛된 지식을 말하며 동풍으로 자기 배를 채우겠느냐?
3. Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?
그가 무익한 이야기로 변론하겠느냐? 혹은 아무 효력 없는 말로 변론하겠느냐?
4. Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God.
참으로 네가 두려워하는 것을 내버리고 [하나님] 앞에 기도하는 것을 그만두나니
5. For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.
네 입이 네 불법을 말하며 네가 간교한 자의 혀를 택하는도다.
6. Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yea, thine own lips testify against thee.
너를 정죄하는 것은 내가 아니요, 네 입이라. 참으로 네 입술이 너를 대적하여 증언하느니라.
7. [Art] thou the first man [that] was born? or wast thou made before the hills?
네가 맨 처음에 태어난 사람이냐? 작은 산들이 있기 전에 네가 만들어졌느냐?
8. Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?
네가 [하나님]의 은밀한 일을 들었느냐? 그래서 네게만 지혜가 있게 하려느냐?
9. What knowest thou, that we know not? [what] understandest thou, which [is] not in us?
너는 아는데 우리는 알지 못하는 것이 무엇이냐? 너는 깨달았는데 우리에게는 없는 것이 무엇이냐?
10. With us [are] both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father.
우리에게는 머리가 흰 사람도 있고 연로한 사람도 있으며 네 아버지보다 훨씬 더 늙은 사람도 있느니라.
11. [Are] the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee?
[하나님]의 위로가 네게는 작으냐? 네게 무슨 은밀한 것이 있느냐?
12. Why doth thine heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at,
어찌하여 네 마음이 너를 끌고 다니느냐? 네 눈이 무엇에다 눈짓을 하기에
13. That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest [such] words go out of thy mouth?
네가 네 영을 돌이켜 [하나님]을 대적하고 네 입에서 그런 말들이 나오게 하느냐?
14. What [is] man, that he should be clean? and [he which is] born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
사람이 무엇이기에 깨끗하겠느냐? 여자에게서 태어난 자가 무엇이기에 의롭겠느냐?
15. Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.
보라, 그분께서는 자신의 성도들을 신뢰하지 아니하시나니 참으로 하늘들이라도 그분의 눈앞에서 깨끗하지 아니하거든
16. How much more abominable and filthy [is] man, which drinketh iniquity like water?
하물며 불법을 물 마시듯 하는 사람이야 얼마나 더 가증하고 더럽겠느냐?
17. I will shew thee, hear me; and that [which] I have seen I will declare;
내가 네게 보여 주리니 내 말을 들으라. 내가 본 것을 밝히 보이리니
18. Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid [it]:
지혜로운 자들이 자기 조상들에게서 그것을 받아 고하였고 숨기지 아니하였느니라.
19. Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.
땅은 그들에게만 주어졌으며 어떤 낯선 자도 그들 가운데로 지나가지 아니하였느니라.
20. The wicked man travaileth with pain all [his] days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor.
사악한 자는 그의 평생 동안 아픔으로 고통을 당하고 그분께서 학대하는 자에게 그의 햇수를 숨기셨으므로
21. A dreadful sound [is] in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.
그의 귀에 무서운 소리가 있도다. 그가 형통할 때에 파멸시키는 자가 그에게 닥치리니
22. He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.
그는 자기가 어둠 속에서 돌아올 것을 믿지 아니하고 칼이 그를 기다리느니라.
23. He wandereth abroad for bread, [saying], Where [is it]? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
그는 널리 헤매면서 빵을 구하여 이르기를, 빵이 어디 있느냐? 하며 어둠의 날이 자기에게 가까이 온 줄을 아느니라.
24. Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
고난과 고통이 그를 두렵게 하며 싸움을 준비한 왕처럼 그를 쳐서 이기리니
25. For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.
이는 그가 자기 손을 내밀어 [하나님]을 대적하며 자신을 강하게 하여 [전능자]를 대적하기 때문이라.
26. He runneth upon him, [even] on [his] neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:
그가 그분께 달려들되 심지어 그분의 목과 그분의 방패들의 새긴 장식에까지 달려드나니
27. Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on [his] flanks.
이는 그가 자기 기름으로 자기 얼굴을 덮고 자기 옆구리를 기름진 겹 살이 되게 하며
28. And he dwelleth in desolate cities, [and] in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.
또 황폐한 도시들과 사람이 거주하지 아니하는 집 곧 돌무더기가 될 집들에 거하기 때문이니라.
29. He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth.
그는 부자가 되지 못하며 그의 재산은 지속되지 못하고 또 그가 자기 재산을 땅 위에서 완전히 늘리지 못하리라.
30. He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.
그가 어둠 속을 벗어나 떠나지 못하리니 불꽃이 그의 가지들을 말릴 것이요, 그분의 입의 숨으로 말미암아 그가 떠나가리라.
31. Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence.
속임을 당하는 자는 헛된 것을 신뢰하지 말지니 헛된 것이 그의 보응이 되리라.
32. It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green.
그의 때가 이르기도 전에 그 일이 이루어질 터인즉 그의 가지가 푸르지 못하리니
33. He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive.
그는 포도나무처럼 자기의 설익은 포도를 흔들어 떨어뜨릴 것이요, 올리브나무처럼 자기의 꽃을 떨어뜨리리라.
34. For the congregation of hypocrites [shall be] desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.
위선자들의 회중은 황폐하게 되며 뇌물을 받는 자의 장막들은 불로 소멸되리니
35. They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
그들은 해악을 수태하고 헛된 것을 낳으며 그들의 배는 속임수를 예비하느니라, 하니라.

[다번역성경찬송]
Job 16장
1. Then Job answered and said,
그때에 욥이 응답하여 이르되,
2. I have heard many such things: miserable comforters [are] ye all.
그런 것들은 내가 많이 들었나니 너희는 다 형편없는 위로자로다.
3. Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldeneth thee that thou answerest?
헛된 말에 끝이 있겠느냐? 무엇이 너를 담대하게 하기에 네가 대답하느냐?
4. I also could speak as ye [do]: if your soul were in my souls stead, I could heap up words against you, and shake mine head at you.
나도 너희처럼 말할 수 있나니 만일 너희 혼이 내 혼의 입장에 있다면 나도 말들을 무더기같이 쌓아 올려 너희를 치고 너희를 향해 내 머리를 흔들 수도 있었을 터이나
5. [But] I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips should asswage [your grief].
그래도 내 입으로 너희를 강하게 하며 내 입술을 움직여 너희 고통을 줄여 주었으리라.
6. Though I speak, my grief is not asswaged: and [though] I forbear, what am I eased?
내가 말할지라도 내 고통이 줄지 아니하고 참는다 할지라도 내게 무슨 편안함이 있겠느냐?
7. But now he hath made me weary: thou hast made desolate all my company.
그러나 이제 그분께서 나를 지치게 하셨으니 주께서 내 모든 무리를 황폐하게 하셨나이다.
8. And thou hast filled me with wrinkles, [which] is a witness [against me]: and my leanness rising up in me beareth witness to my face.
주께서 주름살로 나를 채우셨으니 그것은 곧 나를 대적하는 증거로소이다. 내 야윈 모습이 내 속에서 일어나 내 얼굴을 향해 증언하는도다.
9. He teareth [me] in his wrath, who hateth me: he gnasheth upon me with his teeth; mine enemy sharpeneth his eyes upon me.
그분께서 진노하사 나를 찢으시고 미워하시며 나를 향하여 이를 가시니 내 원수가 날카로운 눈으로 나를 쏘아보며
10. They have gaped upon me with their mouth; they have smitten me upon the cheek reproachfully; they have gathered themselves together against me.
그들이 나를 향해 입을 크게 벌리고 모욕을 하며 내 뺨을 때리고 함께 모여 나를 대적하였도다.
11. God hath delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands of the wicked.
[하나님]께서 나를 경건치 아니한 자에게 넘겨주시고 사악한 자의 손에 던지셨도다.
12. I was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder: he hath also taken [me] by my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark.
내가 평안하였으나 그분께서 나를 부서뜨려 쪼개시며 또 내 목을 붙잡고 나를 흔드사 산산조각 내시며 나를 세워 자신의 과녁으로 삼으셨도다.
13. His archers compass me round about, he cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; he poureth out my gall upon the ground.
그분의 활 쏘는 자들이 나를 에워싸거늘 그분께서 내 콩팥을 갈기갈기 쪼개사 아끼지 아니하시며 내 쓸개를 땅에 쏟으시고
14. He breaketh me with breach upon breach, he runneth upon me like a giant.
또 그분께서 터지고 터지도록 나를 부수시며 거인같이 내게 달려드시는도다.
15. I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and defiled my horn in the dust.
내가 굵은 베를 내 살갗에 꿰매었고 내 뿔을 흙에서 더럽혔도다.
16. My face is foul with weeping, and on my eyelids [is] the shadow of death;
내 얼굴은 울음으로 더러워지고 내 눈꺼풀에는 사망의 그늘이 있으나
17. Not for [any] injustice in mine hands: also my prayer [is] pure.
그것은 내 손의 불의 때문이 아니로다. 또한 내 기도는 순결하니라.
18. O earth, cover not thou my blood, and let my cry have no place.
오 땅아, 너는 내 피를 덮지 말고 내 부르짖음이 머물 곳을 얻지 못하게 하라.
19. Also now, behold, my witness [is] in heaven, and my record [is] on high.
또한, 보라, 이제 내 증인은 하늘에 계시고 내 증거는 높은 데 있도다.
20. My friends scorn me: [but] mine eye poureth out [tears] unto God.
내 친구들은 나를 비웃되 내 눈은 [하나님]께 눈물을 쏟는도다.
21. O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man [pleadeth] for his neighbour!
오 사람이 자기 이웃을 위해 변호하는 것 같이 누가 한 사람을 위해 [하나님]께 변호한다면 얼마나 좋을까!
22. When a few years are come, then I shall go the way [whence] I shall not return.
몇 년이 지나면 그때에 내가 돌아오지 못할 길로 가리로다.
