Job 21장
1. But Job answered and said,
그러나 욥이 응답하여 이르되,
2. Hear diligently my speech, and let this be your consolations.
내 말을 부지런히 듣고 이것을 너희의 위로로 삼을지니라.
3. Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.
내가 말하는 것을 용납하고 내가 말한 뒤에 조롱할지니라.
4. As for me, [is] my complaint to man? and if [it were so], why should not my spirit be troubled?
나로 말하건대 내가 사람에게 불평하느냐? 그렇다면 내 영이 어찌 괴로워하지 아니하겠느냐?
5. Mark me, and be astonished, and lay [your] hand upon [your] mouth.
나를 주목하고 놀라며 손으로 너희 입을 막을지어다.
6. Even when I remember I am afraid, and trembling taketh hold on my flesh.
나는 기억하기만 해도 무섭고 또 떨리는 일이 내 몸을 붙잡는도다.
7. Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power?
어찌하여 사악한 자가 살아남고 늙도록 지내며 참으로 권세도 강하냐?
8. Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.
그들의 씨가 그들의 눈앞에서 그들과 함께 굳게 서고 그들의 후손도 그들의 눈앞에서 그러하도다.
9. Their houses [are] safe from fear, neither [is] the rod of God upon them.
그들의 집은 두려움에서 벗어나 안전하고 [하나님]의 매가 그들 위에 임하지 아니하며
10. Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
그들의 황소는 새끼를 낳되 실패하지 아니하고 그들의 암소는 새끼를 낳되 유산하지 아니하는도다.
11. They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
그들은 자기들의 어린것들을 양 떼처럼 내보내고 그들의 자녀들은 춤을 추는도다.
12. They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.
그들은 작은북과 하프를 들고 오르간 소리에 기뻐하며
13. They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.
자기 날들을 풍요롭게 보내다가 한순간에 무덤으로 내려가느니라.
14. Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
그러므로 그들이 [하나님]께 이르되, 우리를 떠나소서. 우리는 주의 길들 알기를 원치 아니하나이다.
15. What [is] the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
[전능자]가 무엇이기에 우리가 그분을 섬기리이까? 우리가 그분께 기도한들 무슨 유익을 얻겠나이까? 하는도다.
16. Lo, their good [is] not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
보라, 그들의 복이 그들의 손 안에 있지 아니하니 사악한 자의 계략은 내게서 매우 멀리 있도다.
17. How oft is the candle of the wicked put out! and [how oft] cometh their destruction upon them! [God] distributeth sorrows in his anger.
사악한 자의 등불이 얼마나 자주 꺼지는가! 그들의 멸망이 그들에게 얼마나 자주 닥치는가! [하나님]께서 친히 분노하사 고통을 나누어 주시는도다.
18. They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away.
그들은 바람 앞의 지푸라기 같고 폭풍에 휩쓸려가는 겨 같도다.
19. God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know [it].
[하나님]께서 그의 불법을 그의 자녀들을 위해 쌓아 두시며 그분께서 그에게 보응하시니 그가 그것을 알리라.
20. His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
그가 자기의 멸망을 자기 눈으로 보고 [전능자]의 진노를 마시리라.
21. For what pleasure [hath] he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst?
그의 달수가 중간에서 끊어지면 그의 뒤에 그의 집에서 그에게 무슨 기쁨이 있겠느냐?
22. Shall [any] teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high.
[하나님]께서는 높은 자들을 심판하시나니 누가 그분께 지식을 가르치겠느냐?
23. One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
어떤 사람은 기력이 넘치며 심히 편안하고 평온한 가운데 죽으며
24. His breasts are full of milk, and his bones are moistened with marrow.
그의 가슴에는 젖이 가득하고 그의 뼈는 골수로 젖어 있으되
25. And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure.
다른 사람은 혼이 괴로운 가운데 죽고 즐겁게 먹지도 못하는도다.
26. They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.
그들이 한 가지로 흙 속에 누우매 벌레들이 그들을 덮으리로다.
27. Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices [which] ye wrongfully imagine against me.
보라, 내가 너희 생각들을 알며 나를 치려고 부당하게 꾸민 계략들을 아노라.
28. For ye say, Where [is] the house of the prince? and where [are] the dwelling places of the wicked?
너희가 이르기를, 통치자의 집이 어디 있느냐? 사악한 자의 거처들이 어디 있느냐? 하는도다.
29. Have ye not asked them that go by the way? and do ye not know their tokens,
너희가 길 가는 자들에게 묻지 아니하였느냐? 너희가 그들의 증거들
30. That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.
곧 사악한 자가 멸망의 날까지 남겨진다는 것을 알지 못하느냐? 그들이 진노의 날로 인도되리로다.
31. Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him [what] he hath done?
누가 그의 얼굴을 향해 그의 길을 밝히 보여 주겠느냐? 그가 행한 바를 누가 그에게 갚아 주겠느냐?
32. Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.
그럼에도 그가 무덤으로 이끌려 가서 묘지에 머물리라.
33. The clods of the valley shall be sweet unto him, and every man shall draw after him, as [there are] innumerable before him.
그가 골짜기의 흙덩이들을 달게 여기리니 무수한 자들이 그보다 앞서 간 것 같이 모든 사람이 그의 뒤에 모여들리라.
34. How then comfort ye me in vain, seeing in your answers there remaineth falsehood?
그런데도 너희가 어찌 나를 헛되이 위로하느냐? 너희 대답 속에는 거짓이 있느니라, 하니라.

[다번역성경찬송]
Job 22장
1. Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
그때에 데만 사람 엘리바스가 응답하여 이르되,
2. Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?
지혜로운 자가 자기를 유익하게 하는 것 같이 사람이 [하나님]을 유익하게 할 수 있겠느냐?
3. [Is it] any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or [is it] gain [to him], that thou makest thy ways perfect?
네가 의롭다 한들 그것이 [전능자]께 무슨 기쁨이 되겠느냐? 네가 네 길을 완전하게 한들 그것이 그분께 무슨 이익이 되겠느냐?
4. Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?
그분께서 너에 대한 두려움으로 인해 너를 책망하시겠느냐? 그분께서 너와 함께 심판 자리로 들어가시겠느냐?
5. [Is] not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?
네 사악함이 크지 아니하냐? 네 불법이 끝이 없지 아니하냐?
6. For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
네가 까닭 없이 네 형제로부터 담보물을 취하고 헐벗은 자의 옷을 벗기며
7. Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
피곤한 자에게 마실 물을 주지 아니하고 주린 자에게 빵을 주지 아니하였도다.
8. But [as for] the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.
그러나 강한 자로 말하건대 그는 땅을 소유하였으며 존귀한 자는 거기서 살았도다.
9. Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
네가 과부들을 빈손으로 내보내고 아버지 없는 자들의 팔을 꺾었도다.
10. Therefore snares [are] round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;
그러므로 올가미들이 너를 둘러싸고 두려움이 갑자기 너를 괴롭히며
11. Or darkness, [that] thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.
또는 어둠이 너로 하여금 보지 못하게 하고 넘치는 물들이 너를 덮느니라.
12. [Is] not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
[하나님]은 하늘 높은 곳에 계시지 아니하냐? 별들의 높음을 보라. 그것들이 얼마나 높이 있는가!
13. And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?
그런데 너는 이르기를, [하나님]께서 어떻게 아시느냐? 그분께서 어두운 구름을 뚫고 심판하실 수 있겠느냐?
14. Thick clouds [are] a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.
빽빽한 구름들이 그분을 덮은즉 그분께서 보지 못하고 하늘의 순환 회로에서 다니실 뿐이라, 하는도다.
15. Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
네가 사악한 자들이 밟던 옛 길을 주목해 보았느냐?
16. Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:
그들은 때가 되기도 전에 끊어졌고 그들의 기초는 홍수에 휩쓸려갔느니라.
17. Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?
그들이 [하나님]께 아뢰기를, 우리를 떠나소서. [전능자]께서 그들을 위해 무엇을 할 수 있겠나이까? 하였으되
18. Yet he filled their houses with good [things]: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
그분께서는 좋은 것들로 그들의 집을 채우셨느니라. 그러나 사악한 자의 계략은 내게서 아주 멀리 있느니라.
19. The righteous see [it], and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.
의로운 자들은 그것을 보고 즐거워하며 죄 없는 자들은 그들을 비웃는도다.
20. Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.
우리의 재산은 끊어지지 아니하였으되 그들에게 남은 것은 불이 소멸시키는도다.
21. Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
이제 너는 스스로 그분을 제대로 알며 또 그분과 평화롭게 지내라. 그리하면 복이 네게 임하리라.
22. Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
원하건대 그분의 입에서 법을 받고 그분의 말씀들을 네 마음속에 쌓아 두라.
23. If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.
네가 만일 [전능자]께로 돌아가면 세워지겠고 또 네가 네 장막에서 불법을 멀리 치우리라.
24. Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the [gold] of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
그때에 네가 금을 흙처럼, 오빌의 금을 시내의 돌처럼 쌓으며
25. Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.
참으로 [전능자]께서 네 방벽이 되시고 네가 많은 은을 소유하리니
26. For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
그때에 네가 [전능자]를 기뻐하며 네 얼굴을 [하나님]을 향하여 들리라.
27. Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
너는 그분께 네 기도를 드리리니 그분께서 네 말을 들으실 것이요, 또 네가 네 서원을 갚으리라.
28. Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
또한 네가 어떤 일을 정하면 그 일이 너를 위해 굳게 세워질 것이요, 빛이 네 길들에 비치리라.
29. When [men] are cast down, then thou shalt say, [There is] lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
사람들이 쓰러지거든 그때에 너는 이르기를, 그분께서 높여 주시리라, 하라. 그리하면 그분께서 겸손한 자를 구원하시리라.
30. He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.
그분께서 죄 없는 자들의 섬을 구출하시리니 네 손의 순결함으로 말미암아 그 섬이 구출되리라, 하니라.

[다번역성경찬송]
Job 23장
1. Then Job answered and said,
그때에 욥이 응답하여 이르되,
2. Even to day [is] my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
오늘도 내가 원망하는 일이 고통스러우니 내가 매 맞는 것이 신음하는 것보다 힘겹도다.
3. Oh that I knew where I might find him! [that] I might come [even] to his seat!
오 어디에서 그분을 만날지 내가 알 수 있다면 얼마나 좋을까! 내가 그분의 자리에라도 나아가면 좋으리라!
4. I would order [my] cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.
내가 그분 앞에서 내 사정을 정리하며 논증할 말을 내 입에 채우고
5. I would know the words [which] he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.
그분께서 내게 대답해 주시고자 하는 말씀들을 내가 알며 그분께서 내게 말씀하시고자 하는 바를 깨닫기 원하노라.
6. Will he plead against me with [his] great power? No; but he would put [strength] in me.
그분께서 자신의 큰 권능으로 나를 반박하시겠느냐? 아니라. 도리어 내게 힘을 넣어 주시리라.
7. There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.
거기서는 의로운 자가 그분과 논쟁할 수 있은즉 내가 내 심판자로부터 영원토록 구출되리로다.
8. Behold, I go forward, but he [is] not [there]; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:
보라, 내가 앞으로 나아가도 그분께서 거기에 계시지 아니하고 뒤로 나아가도 내가 그분을 감지하지 못하며
9. On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold [him]: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see [him]:
그분께서 왼쪽에서 일하시나 내가 그분을 바라볼 수 없고 그분께서 오른쪽에 숨으시므로 내가 그분을 볼 수 없도다.
10. But he knoweth the way that I take: [when] he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
그러나 내가 가는 길을 그분께서 아시나니 그분께서 나를 단련하신 뒤에는 내가 금같이 나오리라.
11. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
내 발이 그분의 발걸음을 붙들고 그분의 길을 지켜 치우치지 아니하였으며
12. Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary [food].
내가 그분의 입술의 명령에서 돌이키지 아니하고 내게 필요한 음식보다 그분의 입의 말씀들을 더 귀히 여겼도다.
13. But he [is] in one [mind], and who can turn him? and [what] his soul desireth, even [that] he doeth.
오직 그분은 생각이 한결 같으시니 누가 그분을 돌이키리요? 그분께서는 자신의 혼이 원하는 것 바로 그것을 행하시나니
14. For he performeth [the thing that is] appointed for me: and many such [things are] with him.
그분께서 나를 위하여 정하신 일을 이루시느니라. 그분께는 이러한 일이 많이 있느니라.
15. Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.
그러므로 내가 그분 앞에서 괴로워하며 깊이 생각할 때에 그분을 무서워하는도다.
16. For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:
[하나님]께서 내 마음을 약하게 하시며 [전능자]께서 나를 괴롭게 하시나니
17. Because I was not cut off before the darkness, [neither] hath he covered the darkness from my face.
이는 내가 어둠 앞에서 끊어지지 아니하였고 그분께서 어둠을 덮으사 내 얼굴에서 떠나게 하지 아니하셨기 때문이로다.
